New Digital Accessibility Law 2025

As of June 28, 2025, the new Digital Accessibility Law comes into effect in Spain, in compliance with European Directive 2019/882, also known as the European Accessibility Act.
This regulation marks a turning point in the design of digital products and services, requiring private companies to meet established web accessibility standards.

What Is the Digital Accessibility Law?

The new law aims to ensure that all people, regardless of their physical or sensory abilities, can access and use websites, mobile applications, and digital products.
Until now, this obligation applied only to the public sector. From now on, private companies are also required to comply with accessibility standards.

Who Does the New Regulation Affect?

The law impacts a wide range of sectors, particularly:

  • E-commerce and online sales platforms

  • Banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions

  • Transportation services (ticketing systems, mobility apps, etc.)

  • Tech companies and software developers

  • Online media and digital publications

In addition, it applies to any company that offers services to the public and exceeds certain thresholds in terms of revenue or number of employees.

What Are the Deadlines and Penalties?

The law is in effect as of June 2025, but some companies will have an adaptation period until 2027.
Failure to comply with the regulation may result in:

  • Significant financial penalties

  • Damage to brand image and reputation

  • Legal risks related to discrimination

How Can We Help You?

Our services include:

  • Personalized training and consulting

Digital accessibility is no longer optional, it’s a legal requirement and a strategic opportunity.

UX/UI trends

Keys to Designing Effective Digital Experiences for Websites, Apps, and Intranets

In an increasingly digital world, where users expect intuitive, fast, and personalized interfaces, UX/UI design has become a strategic pillar for any digital platform, from corporate websites and mobile applications to intranets and internal tools.
The difference between capturing or losing a user often comes down to one critical factor: the user experience.

Why UX/UI Design Is More Important Than Ever

User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design are not just visual elements.
They directly impact the conversion rate, user retention, productivity, and even SEO performance of a digital solution.
From an e-commerce app to a corporate intranet, UX/UI design shapes how users interact with technology and how they feel while doing it.

UX/UI Trends in 2025 That Are Making a Difference

1. Accessibility-Centered Design

More and more companies are making inclusive and accessible design a top priority.
Optimized contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility are no longer extras, they are both a legal requirement and an ethical necessity.

2. AI-Driven Personalization

Interfaces now adapt in real time based on user behavior. Apps and websites that “learn” from users to deliver more relevant experiences are on the rise.

3. Dark Mode and Customizable Interfaces

Dark mode has become a standard for improving usability in low-light environments and saving battery life.
But in 2025, the trend goes further: multi-theme interfaces, where users choose how they want to experience their digital environment.

4. Microinteractions to Enhance Engagement

Subtle animations triggered by clicks, scrolling, or completed actions provide visual and emotional feedback, making interfaces feel more dynamic and intuitive.

5. UX Writing and Action-Oriented Microcopy

UX/UI design is no longer just about how things look,  it’s also about how they communicate. Clear, friendly, and action-driven messages improve navigation and reduce human error.

How UX/UI Affects SEO and Business Results

Good UX/UI Design:

  • Reduces bounce rate

  • Increases time on site

  • Improves conversion rate

  • Enhances indexing and organic search ranking

  • Minimizes errors in forms and complex processes

Investing in UX/UI isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s a growth strategy. At CompassDigital, we design smart, user-centered interfaces that transform how your customers, employees, and users interact with your brand.

Web accessibility

Digital design without barriers

When we think about web design, the focus is usually on aesthetics, speed, or conversion.
However, there is another equally important and often overlooked aspect that directly impacts the user experience: accessibility.

Web accessibility is not just a best practice; it is a necessity. It means that anyone, regardless of their abilities, can navigate and use a website, application, or internal platform independently, efficiently, and without barriers.

Why is it so important?

Today, more than one billion people around the world live with some form of disability. If your website or app is not accessible, you’re excluding a significant portion of your audience. Furthermore:

  • It improves user experience: A clear, structured, and user-friendly design benefits all users — not just those with specific needs.
  • It boosts SEO: Google rewards structural clarity, fast loading times, and semantic accessibility — all key elements of accessible design.
  • It ensures legal compliance: Regulations such as Spain’s RD 1112/2018 and the EU Accessibility Directive require adherence to standards like WCAG 2.2.
  • It expands your reach: An accessible digital product means more users, more potential customers, and more opportunities for growth.

Where does accessibility apply?

On corporate websites, ensuring intuitive and adaptive navigation

  • In mobile applications, through voice control, optimized contrast, and gesture-free navigation
  • In intranets and internal platforms, to guarantee equal access for all team members

Investing in web accessibility means committing to a digital experience that is more ethical, efficient, and profitable.
At CompassDigital, we help companies design websites, apps, and intranets that meet accessibility standards and reach more people.

Want to know if your site is accessible? We’ll help you audit it and make the necessary improvements.

Why Hiring a Shopify Expert Agency Is Essential for Your Business

Are you thinking about launching a new online store or migrating your existing one?
Shopify has established itself as the most robust and profitable ecommerce platform for 2025. In this post, we explain why and how to make the most of it.

More and more brands are choosing Shopify as their platform to build or migrate their online stores. But while setting up a Shopify store may seem simple, a professional implementation makes all the difference between a store that just works and one that actually sells.

Here’s why working with a specialized Shopify agency is a smart, strategic decision in 2025.

What does a professional Shopify implementation involve?

Building a store with Shopify goes far beyond choosing a theme and uploading products. A specialized agency takes care of:

  • Properly configuring all technical aspects

  • Integrating key tools like payment gateways, ERP, or CRM systems

  • Optimizing the store for SEO from day one

  • Ensuring a smooth and professional user experience

  • Preparing the store to scale, automate, and start selling from day one

Benefits of Working with Shopify Experts

Partnering with a tech agency specialized in Shopify offers you:

  • Efficiency and speed: launch your store faster and with fewer errors

  • Custom design: your store will stand out — not look like everyone else’s

  • Advanced integrations: seamless connection with internal systems, logistics, and marketing tools

  • Technical support and long-term growth: guidance before, during, and after launch

  • Ongoing optimization: continuous improvement of performance, SEO, and conversions from day one

Why Not Do It Yourself?

Shopify is designed to be user-friendly, but when you’re running a serious business, the risks of a poor implementation are very real:

  • Wasting time on complex technical setup

  • Issues with payments or shipping

  • A store that doesn’t rank on search engines

  • Poor user experience that hurts sales

A bad first impression can cost you customers, reputation, and revenue.

How Does a Specialized Shopify Agency Work?

At CompassDigital, as a tech company specialized in ecommerce, we approach Shopify implementation from a 360º perspective:

  1. Initial consulting: we analyze your business, goals, and technical requirements
  2. Custom design: we craft a visual experience aligned with your brand and focused on conversion
  3. Technical development: setup, automations, payment gateways, logistics, and more
  4. SEO and performance optimization: so Google can find you — and users can buy
  5. Ongoing support: continuous improvements, updates, and long-term growth of your store

When Should You Hire a Specialized Agency?

  • If you’re migrating from another platform (like WooCommerce or PrestaShop)
  • If your project requires advanced integrations or custom features
  • If you want a store that’s optimized to sell from day one
  • If you don’t have in-house resources for development and technical support

Shopify is one of the best ecommerce platforms in 2025, but its full potential is only unlocked through a professional implementation.
Hiring a specialized agency isn’t an expense it’s an investment in performance, scalability, and long-term digital success.

Simulation-based learning for health training

The use of educational video games in medicine has proven to be an innovative strategy to enhance learning and the retention of clinical knowledge.

Game-Based Learning (GBL) enables students to face real clinical situations in simulated environments, developing practical decision-making skills without risking patient safety.

This approach encourages repetitive practice, real-time problem-solving, and experiential learning—key factors in training highly skilled healthcare professionals.

Digital simulation-based tools help reduce clinical training costs by minimizing physical infrastructure and disposable materials, providing a sustainable and scalable alternative.

In addition, educators gain objective data to track student progress, standardize teaching, and personalize learning according to each student’s individual performance.

CompassDigital leads the development of educational video games for clinical training

At CompassDigital, we have launched an innovative digitalization project in clinical training through educational video games focused on the simulation of medical practices.

The service, funded under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, aims to improve the skills of Health Sciences students in gamified virtual environments.

We combine our functional knowledge of the healthcare sector with expertise in developing virtual simulation environments to create effective and scalable solutions.

Thanks to this experience, we design interactive tools that transform the way future healthcare professionals learn, practice, and prepare to face real-world challenges.

Clinical video games to improve training

CompassDigital has developed video games that simulate clinical cases such as asthma, hemorrhagic shock, coma, acute myocardial infarction, advanced life support, and eclampsia.

We have also created a SCORM package generator to integrate students’ results into the Learning Management System (LMS) of the UCM.

Each video game provides an experiential learning experience, allowing students to practice diagnosis, treatment, and complication management in a safe, risk-free virtual environment.

Benefits of simulation-based learning

Gamification in medical education is a highly effective tool to improve knowledge retention and students’ confidence in clinical decision-making.

Students can face critical situations in a controlled environment, honing their skills and reducing error rates in managing real-life cases.

Key benefits of the project include:

  • Improved clinical competence among healthcare professionals.

  • Increased confidence and practical skills for students.

  • Fewer clinical errors thanks to prior practice in virtual environments.

  • Content adapted to the latest guidelines and clinical studies, ensuring up-to-date training.

At CompassDigital, we believe technology plays a crucial role in healthcare training, and this project reflects our commitment to innovation. Our team of experts has worked closely with healthcare specialists to ensure each simulation faithfully represents real clinical challenges and fosters effective simulation-based learning.

Development of mental health solutions

Client: Healthcare Sector Solution: Personal Recovery Plan (PRP) Objective: Optimize the management and monitoring of the rehabilitation of patients with Severe Mental Disorder (SMD). As part of CompassDigital’s track record in Healthcare projects, we have led the development and improvement of innovative digital platforms aimed at supporting rehabilitation and recovery in the field of mental health. One of the standout projects in our portfolio has been the implementation and optimization of an advanced technological tool: the Personal Recovery Plan (PRP).

Project Context

The Personal Recovery Plan was designed to provide a comprehensive system that facilitates collaboration between health and social professionals, as well as entities specializing in the rehabilitation of people with Severe Mental Disorder (SMD). This project arises as a response to the need to structure and organize patient information through recovery episodes, promoting a person-centered approach and their clinical evolution.

Key Functionalities:

The implemented solution is characterized by:
  1. Episode-Based Management: Restructuring of the system to organize information based on recovery episodes rather than patients. This allows for more precise management of individual recovery journeys and multiple entries and exits from the system.
  2. Integration with the Electronic Health Record (EHR): Synchronization with existing forms and records, ensuring full interoperability between the application and other healthcare systems.
  3. Customization of Roles and Permissions: Implementation of a role system (administrators, coordinators, technicians, among others) that ensures differentiated and secure access based on each user’s responsibilities.
  4. Waiting List Management: Creation of specific lists by resources and episodes, with advanced filtering, assignment, and exclusion options.
  5. Optimization of Data Visualization: Improvement in the presentation of information through intuitive views, tabs organized by functional areas (assessment, planning, evaluation, etc.), and interactive graphs that facilitate the tracking of active and closed episodes.
  6. Information Extraction and Analysis: Implementation of tools for generating reports and statistical analysis of relevant data, such as activities performed, patient status, and progress evaluations.

Technical Benefits:

Efficiency: Episode-based restructuring reduces data redundancy and improves system responsiveness. Scalability: Modular design allows for future expansions and customizations according to service needs. Security: Incorporation of advanced sensitive data protection standards, complying with confidentiality and personal data protection regulations.

Work Methodology:

Our approach was based on agile methodologies, ensuring the delivery of iterative and quality results. During the project, the following were carried out: Analysis and design phases: Identification of specific requirements and creation of prototypes. Technical implementation: Development of new functionalities in the model, view, and controller layers, as well as updating the database. Exhaustive testing: Functional and security validation in controlled environments before deployment in production.

Results Obtained:

The new PPR system has transformed the way personal recovery plans are managed. Among the most outstanding achievements are:
  • Increased accuracy and traceability of clinical data.
  • Reduction in response times in patient care.
  • Improved coordination between multidisciplinary teams.
  • Greater satisfaction of professionals and patients thanks to a more intuitive system adapted to their needs.
With this experience, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation in the mental health sector, contributing to the improvement of services and the well-being of people.
